Every October, we unite to raise awareness and take action in the fight against breast cancer. Pink Month is a powerful opportunity to support women, educate the broader community, and spread hope.
Through TP Women initiatives, TP remains committed to fostering an inclusive workplace culture, championing women’s rights and empowerment during Pink Month and throughout the year.
Raising Awareness and Taking Action
In Greece, TP continues its tradition as the Official Volunteers Sponsor for the Greece Race for the Cure®, marking our sixth consecutive year of support. This year, 365 team members participated, raising breast cancer awareness, showing solidarity, and fostering a sense of community. This year, our team came together again to support those affected by the disease and inspire others to join the cause.
Over the past 12 years, we have been offering free breast ultrasound exams to our employees, regardless of age or gender. Expanding our focus on women’s health in Greece, we launched an initiative in 2021 to provide 1,000 free breast ultrasounds to women across the country every year. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of regular health screenings and ensure that preventive care is accessible to everyone.
Stories of Strength and Courage
On September 27, we hosted an impactful event as part of the TP Women initiative in Greece, where powerful speakers inspired our team members. Among them were TP employees who shared their courageous breast cancer journeys, offering invaluable insights and highlighting the importance of community and support. Building on our commitment to education, last year we organized webinars in collaboration with the Panhellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer, "Alma Zois."These sessions provided essential information on prevention and early diagnosis, further empowering our employees and community members to take proactive steps in their health journeys.
In the Philippines and Brazil, our team united to wear pink to show support and raise awareness about breast cancer.
In the US, we organized a TP Women fireside chat with Ivan Daquioag, our valued 15-year team member and a former caregiver. Ivan shared his journey and insights, highlighting the importance of awareness and community support in the fight against breast cancer. Another fireside chat featured Bernadine Starks, one of our long-tenured team members, who is a breast cancer survivor. Bernadine walked us through her personal journey of support and recovery, providing inspiration and hope to those affected by the disease.
As we reflect on our efforts during Pink Month, we are motivated to continue making a lasting impact in the fight against breast cancer. Together, we all contribute to creating an environment where health awareness is prioritized, and women are empowered to take charge of their health journeys.
