Teleperformance Sites in the Nordics Achieve ISO 14001 Certification!

Mark Pfeiffer - 01.28.2020

At Teleperformance, we remain hard at work in providing world-class workspaces that elevate our employees’ overall experience. As multiple recipients of prestigious recognitions that acknowledge Teleperformance’s drive to create an atmosphere that inspires motivation and fun among our people, we also focus on doing our part in making our world a better place to live in through sustainable living. It is with gratitude that we announce that Teleperformance sites in the Nordics at Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway were recently awarded ISO certifications for Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015).

ISO is an independent, international organization that has published 22,904 International Standards that cover almost every industry. These standards ensure that a company’s products and services are reliable and of good quality. The ISO 14000 family of standards provides practical tools for companies and organizations from different sectors that are looking to manage environmental responsibilities. An environmental management system helps organizations manage, monitor, and control environmental issues relevant to its operations.

This year, Teleperformance sites in the Nordic region that spans Copenhagen, Oslo, Tampere, Stockholm, and Gothenburg all received certifications. Chief Executive Officer of Teleperformance Nordic Jonas Olsson said: “We are pleased to achieve our 2019 ambition to further strengthen our sustainability initiatives and implement ISO 14001 across the rest of our sites in the Nordics. Teleperformance’s goal is to lower its carbon footprint despite the increase in size and number of employees. The ISO 14001 environmental management system is one of the ways that will help us achieve this.”

For Yannis Tourcomanis, President of Teleperformance Continental Europe, Middle East, and Africa, this recognition also serves as great supplement to Teleperformance’s commitment to the principles of the United Nations’ Global Compact. “As an organization which employs 300.000 people across 80 countries, we, at Teleperformance, are aware of our duty to lessen the environmental impact of our business operations,” Tourcomanis stated. “This certification is a great supplement to both our longstanding commitment to the universal principles of the UN Global Compact and to Teleperformance’s existing environmental initiatives and corporate social responsibility programs such as Citizen of the World and Citizen of the Planet.”

We send our warmest congratulations to our Teleperformance family in the Nordics! Together, we remain focused on our commitment towards a greener Earth, and continue looking for more ways to live sustainably.
