With more than 330,000 employees spanning more than 175 markets and speaking 265 languages and dialects, Teleperformance is committed to doing what we can to ensure the safety of our most valuable resource – our people. And, as one of the world’s largest global employers, we have a moral responsibility to provide any and all support possible to help our TP family, and their communities, overcome the terrible crisis that persists around us.
Just as we had implemented extensive safety protocols at our sites, and moved over 220,000 employees to work-at-home, we are once again at an important crossroads in our fight against COVID-19. With life-saving vaccines becoming available to communities around the world, the next obstacle in defeating COVID will ensuring widespread access to them.
According to Forbes, “The power of a vaccine depends on its price. No matter the clinical effectiveness, if too few people have access to the vaccine, the community can’t reach herd immunity, rendering the innovation moot.”
So, once again, Teleperformance has a moral obligation to take action. As a people-centric company, we believe in fostering health, wellness, and positive change within the communities we serve. Helping people is core to what we do – part of our cultural DNA for over 40 years.
As a result, we have announced that all 330,000+ Teleperformance employees will be reimbursed for any out-of-pocket cost associated with getting the vaccine. So, it is our sincere hope that, by eliminating this financial barrier, we can help to advance and accelerate community-based immunity around the world.
To those who may question the decision or the expense, I say this... Nothing is more important in fulfilling our mission than the safety and health of all our employees. The reimbursement of vaccination costs for our staff is another critical step in our ongoing commitment to our TP family. We will support every employee who wants the vaccine, especially in countries where the public or private insurance system doesn’t cover the cost.
Now, more than ever, we must remain persistent in our fight against this pandemic, and steadfast in our support for the well-being of our employees, their families, and the communities they call home.
