Committed to the Cause: Empowering Migrants and Refugees in Brazil
For us at TP, our goal has always been to make a positive impact on our communities and on the world we live in – together with our employees, the road to a better and fairer world for all continues to be shorter, inspiring us to do even more.
Our impact sourcing program has made a difference, transforming countless lives through meaningful employment. Through our impact sourcing initiatives, TP has provided opportunities to people who are disadvantaged in the race for opportunities, including people with disabilities, first-time jobseekers, and refugees. We give them opportunities where employment can contribute to the greater good.
Our Commitment to Migrants and Refugees in Brazil
As a Force of Good, we envision a world where no one gets left behind.
Through our partnership with Visão Mundial (World Vision) in Brazil, we have made commitments to hire migrants and refugees. Today, there are almost 400 coming from 20 countries working at TP in Brazil, 180 of them are Venezuelan. For our commitment to enrich the lives of our migrants and refugees employed in the country, we are truly grateful to be the recipient of the Seal Empresa Amiga do Migrante (“Migrant-Friendly Company Seal”), given to TP by World Vision through the Ven, Tú Puedes Project.
“The seal is a way of saying that these companies are committed to the cause of migration and to migrants and refugees. It is a form of acknowledgment and gratitude for the work, insertion, and opportunity of these people to guarantee a full life,” stated* Angela Karinne Mota, Ven, Tú Puedes! Project Manager.
To support migrants and refugees in their socioeconomic insertion in Brazil, Ven, Tú Puedes! provides them with skills and guidance to prepare themselves for the job market, such as support in preparing their resumes and in practicing for interviews.
Our commitment to empower refugees and migrants in Brazil strengthens. We remember commemorative dates such as the Day of Declaration of Independence of Venezuela. Last June, we launched a “Reception Guide,” a booklet that addresses the importance of cultural diversity and provides tips on how we can treat and welcome migrants with empathy and respect. We also held an event with World Vision to talk about these topics.
TP is very proud to have migrants and refugees working and interacting with us on a daily basis not just in Brazil, but all over the world. In 2022, we employed more than 2,300 refugees globally. It is an honor to get to know their stories and their culture. This is the beauty of diversity – it expands our horizons and thoughts and changes our outlook for the better.
