Onwards to a Better Future: Teleperformance and Literacy India Making a Positive Impact
For many years, Teleperformance’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives have made a positive impact on countless lives.
As a Force of Good, Teleperformance is dedicated to making a positive difference on our communities and on the environment, propelled forward through our Citizen of the World (COTW) and Citizen of the Planet (COTP) programs. Teleperformance focuses on employee well-being, and we make sure that our employees’ health, safety, and well-being are put first. A big part of this is by ensuring that they achieve a sense of fulfillment by participating in and contributing to activities that aim to leave an immediate and long-term impact on communities.
Teleperformance, together with Literacy India, are fully hands-on in driving social transformation through mentorship programs that have made a positive impact on beneficiaries in India for over 18 years. The partnership has strengthened the framework of having more sustainable solutions for social development in the country through education.
We continue to drive positive changes in India’s local communities through the “Digital Mentorship Program,” where employees volunteer their time in coaching Literacy India’s beneficiaries on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Furthermore, the program expands every beneficiary’s skillset, allowing them to acquire valuable knowledge and insights on digital technologies from the leaders and employees of Teleperformance in India.
Teleperformance also launched the “Pathshala Project” in five locations to ensure quality education is provided to underprivileged children. The project targets to expand across 19 locations in India by March 2024.
Literacy India works through a network of over 100 centers in more than 15 states. Its annual reach of beneficiaries spans 65,000. Since 1996, its programs and initiatives have positively affected over 410,000 children, over 236,000 women, and 155,900 youth.
“COTW is Teleperformance’s charitable initiative that seeks to generate a positive impact on local communities, particularly vulnerable children and their families. Teleperformance aims to equip the children in India with basic education and the youth with recruitment readiness interventions through mentorship programs to enable them to get hired and sustain a livelihood,” said Vinod Mehta, Chief Human Resource Officer, Teleperformance in India and APAC.
We are truly grateful to our employees in India who have selflessly shared their time, knowledge, and skills to help Literacy India’s beneficiaries achieve a better and brighter future!
