This month, Teleperformance in México made a donation of $342,264.00 pesos to three associations with the aim of supporting women and eradicating violence. Alternativas Pacíficas, A.C. is an association in the state of Nuevo León, dedicated to preventing and deactivating family violence and violence against women. Vida Reavivida, A.C. is a shelter in the state of Jalisco for women and their children, victims of family, and gender violence. Fundación Fortaleza IAP offers comprehensive support in Mexico City to women and their children experiencing situations of violence. These institutions provide telephone attention, offer psychological support, legal advice, options to go to a shelter.
Calls to shelters reporting violence have registered an increase of 60 to 80% and asylum requests in these spaces have increased by 30%, according to the National Network of Shelters in Mexico. In this situation, Teleperformance, remaining true to our core values of integrity, respect, professionalism, innovation, and commitment continues to advocate for equality not only in the workplace but also in the communities where it operates.
With the isolation that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought, cases of family violence have increased and now more than ever it is of utmost importance to support victims of domestic and gender violence.
On March 9, 2020, a social movement called “A Day Without Women” was held in Mexico to reinforce the importance of the role of women in our society and promote cultural change. Countless women and girls across Mexico joined this historic strike to peacefully raise awareness of the importance of women in society. From factories to businesses to offices and schools, women and girls joined this unprecedented protest. As a people-centered company that thrives in a culture that embraces diversity and inclusion, Teleperformance stood in solidarity with this movement, respecting the decision of its employees and supporting three associations dedicated to helping women experiencing situations of violence. With the contribution of Teleperformance and our employees, these associations can continue helping women and their children to rebuild their lives and have a space free of violence.
